Single Equality Scheme Development 2010- 2013
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trusts has worked hard in ensuring the services it delivers and the employment practices it adopts are fully inclusive and equitable at both the point of access and also in outcome. We are now working on a transitional process between achieving the standards of the current legislation whilst preparing for the enactment of the forthcoming Equality Bill, which harmonises the legislation and is more outcome focussed. |
| Equality and Diversity is part of our core business and with the Chief Executive taking the overall corporate lead and responsibility for driving the improvements into the front line of mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services across Sussex, it has been and will continue to be a core component of our day to day work. |
| We are currently developing our Single Equality Scheme 2010 -2013, which will see the Trust continue on its journey as a leader in the filed of equality, diversity and human rights within the NHS. The new three year strategy is being based on the robust foundations of the last two annual equality, diversity and human right reports. These reports have highlighted our positive outcomes and the areas we need to do more work. Those challenges have been addressed in the form of mitigating actions included in the new SES. |
| Our engagement, involvement and consultation plan is scheduled to last for eight weeks from 7th May, with events booked across Sussex (see details below). We are also offering any organisation or group the opportunity for us to come and engage with you about this work and to hear you comments and opinions on what we are proposing. |
| We are aiming to deliver world class services and employment practices across Sussex, none of which can be achieved without delivering a legacy of positive change for all of our service users and those that we employ. |
The 2007 -2010 SES is still active until the 2010 – 2013 SES has been approved. |
